Synopsis
Edna Buxton, une adolescente de Philadelphie, remporte un concours de talents au début de l'ère du rock 'n' roll, change son nom pour Denise Waverly et s'installe à New York pour percer. Bien qu'elle échoue en tant qu'artiste, Joel Millner, un producteur de disques au verbe haut, reconnaît son talent de compositrice et la met en duo avec Howard Caszatt, un compositeur en difficulté.
